I don&amp;#8217;t really know what this blog is going to turn out to be, maybe just a weekly record of my progress, but maybe a daily log of my thoughts and strategies.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here is an assessment of my current situation:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I am 21 years old.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I am 5&amp;#8217;11&amp;#8221;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I weigh 179 lbs.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My BMI is 25 exactly, which is the minimum standard for overweight.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I am a size 12/13, depending on clothing brand.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I wear anywhere from a medium to XL in shirts.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I want to lost weight and become fit and active. I am a former athlete, having captained two different varsity sports in high school, and at my lightest, I was 163. This time around I want to weigh 155. That would give me a BMI of 21.6. I&amp;#8217;m graduating college in May, and I refuse to spend the first few years of my post-university life overweight or unsatisfied with myself in any way.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m going to run a 5k in March, so in addition to changing my diet I&amp;#8217;ll be starting an exercise regimen. I&amp;#8217;m going to start with some elliptical work, light weights, and yoga.
